Monday night commute home. Still reflecting over the week that just went by. Spent the Sunday hovering in front of the television with every ball that bounced between the two champions of tennis. Watching them fight out every drop of sweat with every twitch of muscle. It was too gripping a match to blink. It was a true privilege to be a spectator to such mastered performance. Replaying the game in my mind as I rattle in a drossy carriage. Occasionally focusing my gaze at the person sitting opposite to me. Wondering what they do? Where there are going and if they have a warm dinner waiting for them? Wondering what they do for a living? Do they have a friendly cat that will come wrapping their tail around their legs wanting some food or a pair of arms to hug them as they say," honey I'm home" - people and their lives ... An interesting subject. I have often gaze at their features and wonder what they will look like 25 years from now ,. My mind seems to take snippets from my present life and carry my imagination in thru the time machine and out in to the future ..
I am almost home the last few miles before I step in to the house and in to the tiny pudgy hands of my son.. Mummy ( a stretched out call) his little hands wrapped around me and his little face nuzzling in my neck, a few seconds of bliss before his adventurous day unravels with facts about dinosaurs.. 'Mummy did you know..."
Come to think of it, there are things I never knew .. And there are the things I will never know...hoping I will learn from my little treasure and be slightly more knowing than before.
