Landed in Faro on warm humid evening, to find the airport was unfolding itself from their afternoon casita. We waited patiently till we were greeted by lovely man who escorted us to the shared taxi. The drive was long and dusty. Had second thoughts about the holiday destination, but suddenly things seems to get better. Vilamoura – a sparking diamond amongst the rough and rugged terrain.
The evening had extended itself and night was young. Cafés bars and restaurants were full of beautiful people. There was a sound of cerebration and chinking of champagne glasses. The salty smell of the sea mixed with smell food teased your senses as you strolled along the marina front. As you sat yourself down at one of the tables, you could almost let yourself be swallowed in to the atmosphere, the majestic yacht all moored in to an orderly line- bobbing up and down like an excited pets seeking the attention of the owner to be taken out to the seas.
Exquisite array cars all lined up, the Orange and yellow Lamborghinis, BMW Mercedes Porsche and Dodges taking up the front row of your view, people gather around each individual one admiring the widths of the wheel and peering in to see the shinny gear box and fancy dash board

Suddenly your view is jolted back in to reality with beautiful platter of sea food placed in front of you. The visual stimulating my taste buds, sending the hunger signal to the brain. A delicate flake of fish drizzled in lemongrass sauce washed down with chilled glass of vino a perfect start to the holiday. I wish this would be the setting to end my every day evening rather than me looking out at the overgrown garden from my kitchen window.
